Painting the Canouan scene
The tiny little island of Canouan is an idyllic tropical hideaway in the Grenadines. Not so long ago it boasted little more than some beautiful deserted bays, dense vegetation and two hotels. All that changed when Raffles Resort and the magnificent Trump International Golf Course were added. Nowadays Canouan is viewed with a lot more interest and appeal. Not just by holiday-makers with a golfing passion, but by high net worth visitors and serious property investors. It is easy to see why a visitor would be captivated by the beauty of this largely unspoiled and undiscovered hideaway. The pace of life is as slow as you want to make it, the laidback locals are a friendly people, the Raffles Resort is a top class hotel, shopping and restaurant facility, its beach is idyllic, and the golf course meandering into the dense undergrowth is challenging, stunning and offers panoramic views down through the Grenadines.
The airport is small but SVG Air offers an excellent local service backed up by American Eagle and a bevy of private jets from all over the world.
Perhaps Canouan is not as undiscovered as we think?
Who's who in Canouan
Private jets moving inconspicuously in and out of Canouan Airport are clear proof that the rich and famous have not only discovered the beauty of Canouan and its quality resort and golf course, but they are determined to enjoy it! Two of the island's most distinguished visitors have been computer tycoon Bill Gates and property entrepreneur Donald Trump. You don't get many richer celebrities than these two business magnates.
The buzz in Canouan real estate
Canouan has a limited real estate market but overseas investors need look no further than The Villas at the Grenadines Estate, which, are superb luxurious low-density properties within the 200-acre oasis that encompasses the Raffles Resort and the Trump International Golf Club. Both offer world-class facilities and amenities and the villas are on par with this high level of excellence. Owners will also enjoy the privileges and pleasures of this unique resort which has been described as "heaven on earth' by visitors. You can't add much more to that recommendation.
